The Encryptonite ONE™ System
The Encryptonite ONE System performs pre-encryption of pre-recorded digital content and “on-the-fly” encryption of live broadcast streams. Content is encrypted on a packet-by-packet basis and is constantly maintained in an encrypted state throughout distribution and storage until the point of playback in authorized client set-top boxes and other receiving devices.
The modular Encryptonite ONE System is made up of the following software components:
- Encryptonite ONE System Services – The Encryptonite ONE System Services (ESS) are the core back office infrastructure components around which a complete Encryptonite ONE System is assembled. The components contained in the ESS include the following:
- Encryptonite Key Vault – A database module that generates, stores and manages content encryption/decryption keys.
- Encryptonite Key Server – Server software that securely delivers content decryption keys to authorized Decoder Clients.
- Encryptonite MediaPass Server – Server software that works in conjunction with middleware or webstore applications to deliver content usage rights to users and initiate decryption key deliveries after the client has been authenticated and authorized.
- Encryptonite ONE System Access Manager (ESAM) – Client device authentication that registers and monitors set-top boxes deployed in an IPTV operation to ensure that only legitimate client devices have access to content.
- Encryptonite VOD Encryptor – A software utility that encrypts pre-recorded content, such as VOD titles, prior to server ingestion and delivery.
- Encryptonite Broadcast Encryptor – A software utility that encrypts streaming media, such as broadcast pay TV channels, “on-the-fly” for secure delivery.
- Encryptonite Decoder Client – The STB client software component that processes MediaPasses and decrypts content at the point of rendering.
